Güven Borça graduated from Middle East Technical University (Turkey), Department of Industrial Engineering in February 1985, and worked in their family business in Eskişehir  until 1986.  He completed military service at the Ministry of Defense-NATO IEPG Department as a Project Officer.
Then he started his professional life as a Product Development Engineer at İpek Tissue Paper Factory in Karamürsel in August 1987. İpek is a joint venture of  Eczacıbaşı and Fort James (USA). His move to the Marketing Department of İpek Kağıt in January 1989 was the major change in his career. He launched the Marathon line of tissue products in 1990.
In 1991 he moved to Colgate-Palmolive where he worked for six years, in positions ranging from  Brand Manager to Marketing Manager. ABC, Fab, Axion, Ajax, Palmolive, Colgate, Hacı Şakir, Protex are the brands he managed. His major achievement was the successful launch of Palmolive hair care products in Turkey.
Concurrently he was Colgate’s instructor of global marketing training programs. He conducted or coordinated various training programs within the region. He also managed  “Brand Management” workshops and trainings for the public between 1993-2003 and published various articles and participated in conferences as a speaker on branding. He also gives a “Brand Communication Management” course in Anatolian University. 
Güven Borça has been working as Brand Consultant since January 1997. He is the founder and manager of Markam Brand Consultancy. (www.markam.com.tr ) Markam is the leader in its field with 6-8 full time consultants. Markam has served more than 100 Turkish brands so far.
Güven Borça has six books titled “Can a Global Brand Bloom from These Lands?” (2002), “Behind The Ads”(2003),  “Marketing Recipes”(Turkish:2004, English:2010), “Başka Akmerkez Yok”(2007) and “İleri Dönüşüm Kutusu”(2010).

He is married with two children.
